Math competence can be passed over just as literacy can.

I could not see the board for a long time and by the time I got my glasses some of the mathematics and my confidence had fled.

Reading, writing, and arithmetic are three skills that every child deserves as a right to fully function in our society.

And if it is not being met an investigation should be required by the teachers and counselors, not to mention parents/caregivers.
