My Reflection on the Barbie and Ken Movie

Saw it two nights in a row at the theater…..

A Barbie Doll that comes into the real world. Because her “girl” is thinking about death, IE real issues and not just being pretty “in pink” and shopping.

Real issues are presented in the movie without giving any real answers BUT the beauty is in the fact that real questions are being asked.

Then there is Ken who is superfluous unless Barbie notices him in Barbie World, which happens to be the way that women have been treated forever in the real world. They have good conversations that could be transposed into our “real world” consciousness.

(Please understand that I, personally, believe and KNOW that men have their issues as well and you will not catch me saying that “the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world” is not true. What is important here is to see what is being said to the Whole Consciousness about existence! And that it is being expressed for us all to be able to view and consider!)

More subtle is the irony that “women’s ideals” are set up by men, and that only a few run the show that is of course powered by PROFIT.

Hinted at is the crippling power of the IRS to stifle creativity and freedom to be authentic.

One of my favorite concepts though was the idea of cohabitation AND the INSISTENCE that SEX be a part of a “HAPPY LIFE” was pushed aside.

That is a heck of a lot of topics to bring to females AND males of ALL AGES and they did it in a fun, musical, whimsical, and delightful way!!!

I am very PROUD of them.

Would they see their movie in this light?

I am not so sure that they would because I suspect the motivations for the way things were presented may have had “other” intentions.

HOWEVER, the Holy Spirit moves in mysterious ways and I am grateful for the things that I was able to “see” in the movie.

I have to admit that EVERYONE will get out of it what they are ~ is it willing to see or understand at the time or what they are looking for???
