My thoughts* on ACIM Urtext Lesson 282 for 9 October 2023.
I will not be afraid of love today.
I will not be afraid of love today.
* Love is what God IS. What We ARE. Neither need be feared.
1. If I could realize but this today, salvation would be reached for all the world.
* And so it is.
²This the decision not to be insane, and to accept myself as God Himself, my Father and my Source, created me.
* Please do not let the ego or your mind detach the last two words, “created me.”
* It is tempting to think that we are God, Himself and our own Father’s and Source thereby.
* Without acknowledging the Creator that believes in His Creation, which we are, our very existence is denied and we stumble in a sleepy stupor of regret and fear for we lack that which gives us our very essence. Here alone is true love. Where forgiveness was NEVER required.
³This the determination not to be asleep in dreams of death, while truth remains forever living in the joy of love.
* YES
⁴And this the choice to recognize the Self Whom God created as the Son He loves, and Who remains my one Identity.
* YES. I am not able to fully awaken on my own. Corrections of thought must be acknowledged within the dream to gently wake me so that I will be able to withstand the transition and not fear my own Reality.
2. Father, Your Name is Love and so is mine.
* Your Name, Your Name, Your Name…. wow! So, it is NOT CHRIST but Love. And so is mine! Thank you for that clarity!!! And directness.
* Does this mean that I will let go of the term CHRIST or God? I am not sure. I will need to follow Spirit’s Guidance on this. Hmm. I do understand that the world accepts the term Love better than the term God or Christ. I will ponder. But I cannot deny or drop the terms God or Christ because in my generation they had a meaning for me that needs to be transposed or reassessed. And things must have a basis or familiarity in old ways if new ways are to be accepted.
* “Teaching devices which are totally alien to a learner’s perceptual system are usually merely disruptive. Transfer depends on SOME common elements in the new situation which are understandable in terms of the old.” ACIM Urtext pg. 41
²Such is the truth.
³And can the truth be changed by merely giving it another name?
⁴The name of fear is simply a mistake.
⁵Let me not be afraid of truth today.
* I commit to this today.
