My thoughts* on ACIM Urtext Lesson 290 for 17 October 2023. God’s Vision Makes the Ego’s Horror Manageable
My present happiness is all I see.
* Happiness is knowing that there never was separation from our power, completeness, and Creator and that all consciousness will eventually come to understand this.
1. Unless I look upon what is not there, my present happiness is all I see.
* To function in the physical world I will see what is not there. I need to be able to accept this.
²Eyes that begin to open see at last.
³And I would have Christ’s vision come to me this very day.
* As it does through the Holy Spirit.
⁴What I perceive without God’s Own Correction for the sight I made is frightening and painful to behold.
* Did you HEAR what that said? While in the flesh that is run by ego (and we are all there in this particular time) IT WILL BE FRIGHTENING AND PAINFUL TO BEHOLD.
It is the assurances of the Atonement that make it possible to see and to endure.
* THIS is why we must consider it a dream or truly a NIGHTMARE and trust the Holy Spirit to see us through!!! Who needs a Haunted House?????
* God will correct our sight once we are willing to see and hear through Him. And He will walk you through it all step by step. We MUST TRUST THIS.
⁵Yet I would not allow my mind to be deceived by the belief the dream I made is real an instant longer.
* Become the child that you are and believe in what seems impossible because only this will undo what became from believing in the impossible (separation) in the first place.
⁶This the day I seek my present happiness, and look on nothing else except the thing I seek.
* As real. As real. As real. You cannot exist here and not see things that are NOT real.
2. With this resolve I come to You, and ask Your strength to hold me up today, while I but seek to do Your Will.
* I love the reminder that it is God’s strength that allows me to do and to BE.
²You cannot fail to hear me, Father.
* THIS should end the concern that God does not know what is going on with us. He does AND He knows what is not real.
³What I ask have You already given me.
* Existence, safety, abundance, eternal life, peace, joy, happiness, and the list goes on of what we do have already. Despite ANY appearance of anything contrary to that.
⁴And I am sure that I will see my happiness today.
* My happiness in inside and relates to my relationship with Father and not with the confusion of the Son.
