My thoughts* on ACIM Urtext Lesson 348 for 14 December 2023. I Choose to See God in All Things
I have no cause for anger or for fear, for You surround me. And in every need that I perceive, Your grace suffices me.
* The Holy Spirit continues to show me that I am living a lie in so many ways. (This is a situation I suspect that we will each face as we come to understand the confusing entanglements that the frightened ego has given us. Yet for the things that I truly value such as safety, the opportunity to learn, to be seen and heard, these things are beginning to flow to me naturally as I place my sights solely on the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
1. Father, let me remember You are here, and I am not alone.
* I require a CONSTANT remembrance and recognition of GOD, THE FATHER in my existence. There is no alternative for me any longer. And I have NO desire for anything less than this, anyway, because I know there is nothing outside of Him.
* I will NOT be without Him first and foremost in my thoughts. Does this mean that I am always on top of things? No. It does mean that His Love buoys me up in ALL things.
²Surrounding me is everlasting Love.
* Which actually IS God.
³I have no cause for anything except the perfect peace and joy I share with You.
* Amen, and this is what I am aware of in my life now, constantly. This “awareness” creates a vibration in me that attracts those who are in a similar vibration.
⁴What need have I for anger or for fear?
* I can be aware of the stories of the frightened ego without having to be drawn into the cycle of anger and depression that they give us. The Holy Spirit is the One Who shows me these things and Who puts a buffer around me (especially my emotions, though I can feel sadness and tears flow at times) so that I am comforted. He also gives me the assurance of the Atonement that these things are false and oh so temporary.
⁵Surrounding me is perfect safety.
* I have made peace with the Universal Plan in that I am willing to accept whatever I was to go through because I understand that it is to help the United Consciousness of Christ as a Whole. I am not tempting God by acting foolish but I do not live in fear either.
⁶Can I be afraid, when Your eternal promise goes with me?
⁷Surrounding me is perfect sinlessness.
* I want this to integrate into my consciousness in such a way that its clarity and certainty are just, “of course.” Natural and second nature to me.
⁸What can I fear, when You created me in holiness as perfect as Your Own?
* This may be an automatic awareness or it may come upon you subtly, either way it is a gift of the Spirit and yours for accepting your witness of God.
2. God’s grace suffices us in everything that He would have us do.
* Acknowledging God’s absolute Existence and Presence erases the possibility of sin’s reality instead of shining a light on it and making it real.
²And only that we choose to be our will as well as His.
* God’s grace lifts us to heights that we thought were impossible and makes us all that we can be or need to be to fulfill our role in His Universal Plan of Salvation.
