My thoughts* on ACIM Urtext Lesson 87, for March 27, 2024.
Our review today will cover these ideas:
1. (73) I will there be light.
* “Will” is another way to say choose. I choose for there to be light.
* “Light” has the meaning of TRUTH here. We do understand that one thing that Jesus of Nazareth who I know is the author of this Course testifies of God as the Father of Christ and always has. This was not accepted by Helen and Bill and thus, the use of ‘lighter’ terminology, i.e. light.
* I choose/will for God to exist. I choose/will for God’s Love to be the Power by which all EXISTENCE is perceived and experienced.
²I will use the power of my will today.
³It is not my will to grope about in darkness, fearful of shadows and afraid of things unseen and unreal.
⁴Light shall be my guide today.
⁵I will follow it where it leads me, and I will look only on what it shows me.
⁶This day I will experience the peace of true perception.
* This will happen IF you are willing to accept the idea of a GRAND UNIVERSAL COMPLETE and BENEVOLENT CREATOR of all of creation.
2. These forms of this idea would be helpful for specific applications:
²This cannot hide the light I will to see.
³You stand with me in light, [name].
⁴In the light this will look different.
3. (74) There is no will but God’s.
* Cha-ching! I was NOT kidding about God being the focus of the teachings of Jesus! That this could have been questioned for nearly 50 years is incredible and shows the influence of societal oppression, if you ask me. Which you didn’t, so let’s go on. Haha.
²I am safe today because there is no will but God’s.
* Amen!
³I can become afraid only when I believe there is another will.
* Okay, this is a BIG PILL to swallow for those who have lived with the belief in separation from God and oppression by others for thousands of years!
* Nonetheless, it is true.
⁴I try to attack only when I am afraid, and only when I try to attack can I believe that my eternal safety is threatened.
* My eternal safety. Imagine my eternal safety being threatened. Oh yeah, that was when I thought that going to hell was a reality because I was a sinner.
* I hope that you are in a place where you can let go of this belief.
* You will find it easier if you are a believer in God if you remember that there is nothing stronger or outside of God. He is omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnipresent (everywhere). You do not get any bigger than that. There is nothing that exists outside of Him. Not even the error of His Son’s confusion. God will transform it all into His Blessing and Will. This we can trust.
⁵Today I will recognize that all this has not occurred.
⁶I am safe because there is no will but God’s.
4. These are some useful forms of this idea for specific applications:
²Let me perceive this in accordance with the Will of God.
³It is God’s Will you are His Son, [name], and mine as well.
⁴This is part of God’s Will for me, however I may see it.
* They wrote this and still allowed the Course to be taught as if God did not exist. Wow, it is nearly impossible to believe. But this just shows the cunning and trickery of the frightened ego and how it keeps us hopping and pre-occupied so we never get our questions answered.
* Be still and know that I am God and that we are His Children as PART of the Body of Christ.
