My thoughts* on ACIM Urtext Lesson 92, for April 1, 2024. Miracles are seen in light, and light and strength are one. *See the translation below.
Miracles are seen in light, and light and strength are one.
* God’s Love (miracles) is seen in the union of The Son where all is acknowledged by all else as worthy and whole and perfect. This is the strength that is our BIRTHRIGHT.
1. The idea for today is an extension of the previous one.
²You do not think of light in terms of strength, and darkness in terms of weakness.
* We are not taught to see ourselves as one entity in the full spectrum of light and shown our strength because of our unity IN the Mind and Will of God Whose Will we share.
* We look at darkness and say someone has the right to stay there. Hmm. Yeah, but not really.
* You have the right to stand in your truth and to feel safe and able to make your own decisions and your own mistakes. This, in itself is light.
* When you feel it is your right to judge, condemn, persecute, or punish others that is NOT light.
* It is darkness and it needs to be separated to the extent that it does not harm but the other side of our responsibility needs to be addressed which would be to be a greater light and seek a greater understanding rather than just stand at a distance and praise yourself for not being the darkness that you see in another.
* This DOES NOT mean that we steal people’s identity and culture or personality but that we witness that they are Love as we are BY THE WAY WE TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT and DIGNITY!
³That is because your idea of what seeing means is tied up with the body and its eyes and brain.
⁴Thus you believe that you can change what you see by putting little bits of glass before your eyes.
* I wear glasses for reading, haha. But this is not the vision or sight spoken of here.
⁵This is among the many magical beliefs that come from the conviction you are a body, and the body’s eyes can see.
2. You also believe the body’s brain can think.
* God is the Source of our Knowledge, and it comes via the Holy (Wholly) Spirit.
²If you but understood the nature of thought, you could but laugh at this insane idea.
* So thought is the essence of God perhaps and that is what allows us to be like Him ONCE we align with Him truly? This would thereby align us with all that the Father is in the sense of our ability to manifest form according to the Will and Love that is God.
* Maybe this is why the mastery of the thought processes is so key to the work that makes up the Course?
* If you look at the Bible and what Jesus was teaching there, you will find that he addressed the teachers of the day who took the responsibility of the relationship between God and us out of the hands of those who felt they had greater wisdom and gave it to each of us directly.
* Would he do anything less 2000 years later? Is God not the Source of our being and our everything?
³It is as if you thought you held the match that lights the sun and gives it all its warmth; or that you held the world within your hand, securely bound until you let it go.
* THIS is the misconnection that we have with our faith and where we put it. We want to understand that it is God through Whom we have the confidence to be who we are and by Whom we have permission to express our lives the way we do AS DOES EVERYONE ELSE.
⁴Yet this is no more foolish than to believe the body’s eyes can see; the brain can think.
* Both are nonsensical ideas.
* I understand the vision of the Holy Spirit. Now I am considering the reality that thought is also something that I want to ‘feel’ through the witness that I understand as the Holy Spirit.
* I cannot say that I understand how that is to manifest in the interaction of two parts of the Body of Christ who understand who they are. I have yet to really engage in that experience. I know that I sound ‘puffed up’ and ‘prideful’ and I do not mean to be. Truly.
* I exposed myself today in a little gathering that has become somewhat familiar with me. I was facing a bit of a potential meltdown and told them so. I was feeling my back against the wall in terms of interacting with the one I think of as my forever other in this lifetime. ~ Hopefully, the essence of what I am saying here will become clearer as I continue my comments.
* It is very difficult for me to think of having existence in the thought system of the fearful ego. With him, or with those that he knows, we play out a role in our lives, but do we ever ‘see’ each other or have the freedom to express who or what we perceive ourselves to be?
* Without the foundational agreement and awareness of a Universal Creator we must rely on the fearful ego who says to each and every one of us that there can only be ONE (and we buy that because in one sense it is true since God IS all that is) but from the stance of being without a witness of a Universal Creator we are actually forced to defend our right to exist (or THINK we are) and this makes us enemies one to another if we express anything about who we are that is the slightest difference from the other person’s ego-thought body or perception of the world.
* In the human body, when there are opposing forces that seek destruction of the whole they are sought and annihilated. Can we really expect that we will do anything different in the Body of Christ?
* When I am on the correct track or train of thought the Holy Spirit buoys me up. I feel this very specifically. I draw it into me with every long and steady breath. What I have to face will be met with God and Jesus at my side under the direction of the Holy Spirit.
* This is something that I just know.
* I no longer seek justification, and acceptance in existing, from others though I do seek permission to express my existence, and theirs, out of respect to them. It is like how I view the Holy Spirit needing that tiny bit of ‘will’ from us to reveal the Father and the Son to us.
* I want to also express how the personalities that I find myself among today are ‘choice’ and ‘chosen’ for this very incredible journey that I am on. I cannot tell you how much I feel their love reaching out to me even behind the wall that the fearful ego has fabricated in front of them.
* I have presented myself rather poignantly by sharing with them my intent on holding a ‘silent space for public prayer and meditation.’ I shared it with about fifteen people, and it will be posted in a public newsletter in a few days. It is apt to set me in a firm caricature in the minds of my community. This is basically what I shared:
* debi will be holding space for a silent, non-partisan call to gather for peace and prosperity within one Universal Creator, establishing the worthiness and value of the Whole Body of Creation with Liberty and Justice for ALL, prayer/meditation on Wednesday, the first of May at 1:00 p.m. Please join her on location or in the comfort of your own home.
* Consider yourselves invited.
* It is possible that I will be placed in a box by each and every ego that reads the invitation. I will face alienation and ridicule in the realm of the ego, but I call forth the Christ in each one and testify of His Reality.
* I live in a region where sex and drugs are a much more comfortable topic than politics and religion but if I do not stand for Christ how can Christ as a Whole Stand for me?
3. It is God’s strength in you that is the light in which you see, as it is His Mind with which you think.
* Oh, please hear that! I will repeat it: “It is God’s strength in you that is the light in which you see, as it is His Mind with which you think.”
²His strength denies your weakness.
* I cannot say to myself that I can do nothing.
³It is your weakness that sees through the body’s eyes, peering about in darkness to behold the likeness of itself; the small, the weak, the sickly and the dying, those in need, the helpless and afraid, the sad, the poor, the starving and the joyless.
⁴These are seen through eyes that cannot see and cannot bless.
* There are blessings that God would send out through those who would have the courage to see the truth and uphold it.
4. Strength overlooks these things by seeing past appearances.
* I wonder if the word faith would be appropriate as well? Yet, ‘strength’ gives a witness that KNOWS the truth of whose you are.
²It keeps its steady gaze upon the light that lies beyond them.
³It unites with light, of which it is a part.
⁴It sees itself.
⁵It brings the light in which your Self appears.
⁶In darkness you perceive a self that is not there.
* The fearful ego created a monster out of your imaginings. Even if it is wrapped in silver and gold.
⁷Strength is the truth about you; weakness is an idol falsely worshipped and adored that strength may be dispelled, and darkness rule where God appointed that there should be light.
5. Strength comes from truth, and shines with light its Source has given it; weakness reflects the darkness of its maker.
* We understand here that our Source of truth and light which gives us strength is God.
²It is sick and looks on sickness, which is like itself.
³Truth is a savior and can only will for happiness and peace for everyone.
* “for everyone.”
* Indivisible.
⁴It gives its strength to everyone who asks, in limitless supply.
⁵It sees that lack in anyone would be a lack in all.
* Some day it will be this that governing bodies will rectify so that there is no lack anywhere.
⁶And so it gives its light that all may see and benefit as one.
⁷Its strength is shared, that it may bring to all the miracle in which they will unite in purpose and forgiveness and in love.
* THIS is a worthy legacy and inheritance for my children’s children and beyond. I will do what I can to see that this is accomplished.
6. Weakness, which looks in darkness, cannot see a purpose in forgiveness and in love.
* It has made substitutes and bows before them.
²It sees all others different from itself, and nothing in the world that it would share.
* Yes.
³It judges and condemns, but does not love.
* It is heartbreaking to observe.
⁴In darkness it remains to hide itself, and dreams that it is strong and conquering, a victor over limitations that but grow in darkness to enormous size.
* And you are not able to get past the grip on darkness that someone chooses no matter the love and light you offer from ‘outside’ their own mind. It must come from within. Your walking in the light will show them that it is possible once they are ready to partake of it.
7. It fears and it attacks and hates itself, and darkness covers everything it sees, leaving its dreams as fearful as itself.
²No miracles are here, but only hate.
³It separates itself from what it sees, while light and strength perceive themselves as one.
* This is something that we want to reflect on and consider its meaning and experience going forward.
⁴The light of strength is not the light you see.
* …with your natural eyes.
⁵It does not change and flicker and go out.
⁶It does not shift from night to day, and back to darkness till the morning comes again.
8. The light of strength is constant, sure as love, forever glad to give itself away, because it cannot give but to itself.
* There are so many blessings in that statement!
²No one can ask in vain to share its sight, and none who enters its abode can leave without a miracle before his eyes, and strength and light abiding in his heart.
* This is so. It is my prayer that you will ask for it. You must be willing to forgive yourself and ALL others for the belief in separation from God which will release you from attachment to the darkness.
9. The strength in you will offer you the light, and guide your seeing so you do not dwell on idle shadows that the body’s eyes provide for self-deception.
* This is what the Holy Spirit does as it IS the light within you and the light within all else, including God, the Father and Creator of us ALL.
²Strength and light unite in you, and where they meet, your Self stands ready to embrace you as Its Own.
* As I remember that this is who I am, and that all have access to this when they are ready, I have such comfort and happiness.
³Such is the meeting place we try today to find and rest in, for the peace of God is where your Self, His Son, is waiting now to meet Itself again, and be as one.
10. Let us give twenty minutes twice today to join this meeting.
²Let yourself be brought unto your Self.
³Its strength will be the light in which the gift of sight is given you.
⁴Leave, then, the dark a little while today, and we will practice seeing in the light, closing the body’s eyes and asking truth to show us how to find the meeting place of self and Self, where light and strength are one.
11. Morning and evening we will practice thus.
²After the morning meeting, we will use the day in preparation for the time at night when we will meet again in trust.
³Let us repeat as often as we can the idea for today, and recognize that we are being introduced to sight, and led away from darkness to the light where only miracles can be perceived.
* I find it interesting that Jesus had to really coax Helen and Bill along in this work to get them to write down what is relatively simple to speak of. Yet, we want to remember that there minds are trained in ‘fearful egoism.’ The ego sends us on mental dashes down dead ends and flips us this way and that so that we are kept off track of its true intent to destroy us because guilt is its god.
* These homework assignments remind me of that very thing only used by the very expert Hands of the Holy Spirit.
* Even once one has a witness of the Holy Spirit and has forgiven the Sonship for belief in the possibility of separation from God and all of its consequences, I am finding the review of this work helpful and reassuring.
* All love and gratitude to those near and far who are helping me in this magnificent work! I am humbled that you have stayed so close.
