Name In Acronym; An Introduction
I will do so in three parts, this being Part One.
Tim Maudlin gave this challenge originally in a course I took with him and Jeffrey Herring and it is a great way to share who you are.
My belief system has been poignantly developed for over six decades.
By that, I mean that my spiritual nature, my earthly experiences, my stumbling, and searching have been very much in my awareness throughout my life.
I do remember significant moments of choices that played a significant role in how I would live out my time here on earth.
Let’s see what the acronym reveals.
I
I learned on a typewriter-like that once upon a time!
I tend to take things very seriously, and with a grain of salt, at the same time.
D in Debra. Did you know that names are significant on a very spiritual level?
It has been said that the child picks out their name because of its significance before they are born. I believe that.
My name has given me so much room to grow.
Debra, Debbie, Deb, they all had significance and at around age sixty, I chose Debi to signify that Deb would take care of the little “i” inside of me.
D, then, is for Determination!
E in Debra. This is harder than I thought. :) Every child born in this sphere, I believe is part of Christ. I wish I had realized that when my babies were born.
I would have looked at them differently and I would have taught them specific things that Christ needs to know to maneuver safely, or in their purpose, in this environment.
I believe they are guided by Jesus through the conscience anyway, and they chose me as their mother because of my weaknesses at that time.
One thing for certain, I would have taught them that they are forever loved and nurtured by the presence of their Heavenly Father and that all others are as well, no matter their strengths or weaknesses.
E, then, for everlasting!
B in Debra. Brave. It has to be. There is no C in my name for courage, so the next best thing is bravery.
I believe it takes bravery to enter this realm and to dare to open one’s eyes to what is “really” happening and forgive the results of what I consider the Original Error of the belief in Separation from God.
B, then, for Bravery!
R in Debra. We are all born with the light of Christ within us. It has nothing to do with religion. You can call it what you will.
It requires recognition that we are created by a Creator and are not personally responsible for who or what we are.
That will send shudders through some, I suspect. I think I lean to the eastern understanding that we took a place and a role in the Whole of Creation to share our light with a specific corner or area of the world and time.
It is turning that light within us over to Jesus, as we join him in the Atonement, which allows the radiance of our true selves to remind others of their connection in Divinity as well.
R, then, for Radiance!
A in Debra. Can there be any other word to describe me but audacious?
Going against all tradition, influence, persuasion, and blazing a trail that stands glaringly on the front edge of either genius or insanity.
Finding myself needing Divine Assistance at an early age, I chose to listen to my gut and my heart, rather than the adults and traditions around me.
It took a lot of experiences and time for me to be willing to yield completely to those Divine Instructors, but today, I have no choice, all else has lost my trust.
A, then, for Audacious!
Thanks for sharing some time with me!
