This reflects our disconnect from our Source, God. That is what makes us feel vulnerable.
It can bring out masochistic or sadistic behaviors in others if we do not see it for what it is.
Because there is a part of us deep inside that knows we are not vulnerable and no one else is either.
And as far as feeling connected in this way with other humans taps into what A Course In Miracles teaches about how our egos have created a fictional world where we are not connected which is impossible because we are all within the Mind of God and represent the Sonship of Christ along with all else.
This is something that humanity will be forced to look at more and more and what will bring change as we go within to discover it is ourselves that has accepted disconnection and created a false world that we do not allow God to be a part of.
