It is because our society has built up unrealistic expectations of what life is supposed to be.

I was reading about India today where parents pick the marriage partner for their children and it said that they have a lot of long lasting and satisfying relationshis. Why? (In my opinion) Because it is societies expectations that we are trying to live up to.

This needs to change. Humanity will not keep up this charade forever.
